03.19.04 - Do I ever cross your mind, anytime? Do you ever wake up reaching out for me...

:: Sunday, October 19, 2003 ::
Argh. I'm still stressed out. Although, I am being significantly more productive than I usually am, which is a major plus. If I could only finish studying for this stupid biology test, I will finally be able to start on my 1000 word essay that's due on Tuesday. Joy and all the world is right.

Anyway, a recap of yesterday, which was a total and complete blast.

First off, apologies go to Vinita: I'm so sorry that we didn't get to meet up, and that we left earlier in both going and coming back from Screemers. I'll make it up to you with dinner?

After Friday's traumatic falling-asleep-without-knowing studying session, I got to bed around 3, then woke up around 9 something to head off to work, which was actually a lot of fun. It's times like this when I really don't know if I should take that job at Best Buy or not...but I digress. We're putting up this year's artificial Christmas trees, and for some reason a large percentage of them happen to have that fake snow crap on their leaves. Poor Beatrice got it all over her clothes...that'll be a bitch to get rid of. Fake snow is like sparkles...you may think that you've gotten rid of all of them, but a few weeks or even months later, there will still be that speck or those specks that are remaining.

I, on the other hand took care of putting out soils. That was pretty gross, because I had to get the boxes of them from the back room where it looks like they haven't been touched since the beginning of Spring when we got them. Some of the packages had those nasty silverfish crawling on them...ugh...*shudder*.

But lets get to the fun part, shall we?

Me, Cristina, Rosemina and Ira (not eye-ra, but ee-ra...don't even know if that's the way you spell her name, but anyway...) met up with Mauro at Finch station. Poor guy had to wait, like, 20 minutes for us. I think I may also have that chronic lateness syndrome...Er, anyway, I read off of the Screemers website that we should get off at the Dufferin station and take the 29 bus South. However, we got confused, and couldn't decide whether or not to get off at Bloor/Yonge or not...so we did a little bit of subway enter and exits in the span of about 10 seconds. We decide to stay on until we get to Union.

We get to Union, and don't realize that there are two 509 busses...one that goes to the Ex, one that doesn't. We just happened to get on the one that doesn't...the important thing is that we got there eventually.

Highlights of Screemers:
- The Carnival of whatever (I think it was Doom...but that was something else) in 3D was probably the worst attraction there, save for the nasty, creepy clowns. I hate when they come up to you and start to follow you.
- The Castle of Doom. Being the first really scary thing we did there, I was still having weird muscle spasms afterwards. The scariest and funniest part of this one was the hand with a knife coming out of the mirror, and the girl at the end of the hall of mirrors. Oh my God. That girl was so freaky, all 4 of us girls were too scared to go past her: "You go first! No! You! No...You!!" I, unfortunately went last, meaning that creepy girl felt the need to hover just a little too close. 8|
- The Maniac Maze. 2 words: Chainsaw guy. Lord me. That was probably the freakiest part of the entire maze...well, that and the weird "ghost bus" that lit up when you started to go near it. Poor Cristina and Rosemina were lost, since they got chased by the chainsaw guy and the rest of us didn't. Needless to say...since the maze was outside, and it was rainy, we all got immensely muddy.
- The Black Hole. This one was just plain "cool". I literally couldn't see a thing...and by accident, in my need to figure out where the hell I was going, I grabbed Rosemina's face (sorry!). There was one point where all the staff in the place were like, "Follow the red light!", but then there was a corner w/out an kind of red light at all. Then there was that subway thing in that attraction...I almost had a heart attack over that one.
- The Haunted House. This was probably the scariest one out of all of them. Every. Single. Corner. There was someone or something just waiting for you. The advantage of being at the back is that you don't get scared as much because you know what's coming up...the disadvantage is that the people FOLLOW you. Argh...I swear, one of those fake weapons nicked me and I seriously thought I was going to die. There was one point where I was standing behind either Era or Mauro, and I pulled them back so that they'd be subjected to "scary-person #_"...haha, so my apologies to them too!

Overall, it was a really fun experience, and maybe next year it'll even be better ;)
